You can get creative while making Kahlua coffee at home, as you can try a number of variations. You can make it as a ready to use drink or as concentrated syrup. Here is how you make a ready to use Kahlua coffee at home.
Instant coffee: ½ cup
Vodka: 750 ml
White granulated sugar: 1 ½ cups
Water: 2 cups
Vanilla extract: 2 tbls
- Boil water and remove it from heat.
- Now add dry instant coffee and sugar. Stir the ingredients until sugar is dissolved.
- Add vanilla extract.
- Before adding vodka, check the temperature of the water. Once it is less than 172 degrees, you can add vodka to it.
Use sterilized bottles to store home made Kahlua. Though you can drink the liquor immediately, letting it sit for a month or so will help the ingredients blend well. You can also try using brewed coffee to enhance the flavor.
